Over the past 15 years, I have had the opportunity to work at multiple levels of IT including development, infrastructure, architecture and management. I am highly skilled at seeing connections between technologies and putting them together in ways that solve very complex problems. I pride myself for my ability to develop the long-term vision and to create simple, intuitive solutions that deliver on real business needs. I am deeply interested in architecting and building highly scaleable web-based solutions built upon cloud and hybrid-cloud infrastructures.

Enterprise-wide monitoring solution. Based on Dell Foglight, with integrations with IT Ticketing systems, network monitoring, 3rd party RSS feeds and custom built interface for colleagues throughout the enterprise
My Esri - Customer Account Portal. Helped architect and implement AWS infrastructure components across various services including EC2, Elastic Beanstalk, ELB, Elasticache, SQS, SNS, VPC among others.
Development Manager and product owner of Esri's internal collaboration tools. The primary focus of these tools are on enabling Esri and its 80+ international distributors to collaborate in real-time from anywhere across the globe. In charge of building out a globally available, geographically dispersed, highly available and redundant SharePoint environment. When finished, the environment became a global intranet that included file sharing, social capabilities, reporting and enterprise-wide search. While under new management, this continues to enable the company to consolidate multiple stores of data into a centralized location of operational data. Was also in charge of managing the technical development and maintenance of enterprise-wide internal and external search (FAST and GSA), blogs and forums.
Led a team of top-tier developers in the management and development of enterprise-wide applications and solutions. I was responsible for technical oversight and development of many of Esri's top 10 most trafficked websites and critical internal applications and services. This included working with SME's, departmental stakeholders and others in converting their business requirements to technical requirements, producing solution designs, implementation roadmaps and project management of developer resources in concert with other active projects. Was very hands on and assisted development staff as needed.
Solutions included custom ColdFusion and PHP applications, open source and COTS solutions including Drupal, WordPress, VBulletin and enterprise-level solutions including Google Search Appliance and MS FAST Search.
Applications included
Esri Forums, Esri Blogs, Enterprise-wide search (both internally and externally facing), Esri Support Site, Esri Global Account System (Single-sign-on), Internal Single-sign-on, ArcGIS 9.3 Product Web Help, ArcGIS Resource Centers, Internal support search tools and shared developer code libraries.
Provided developer and project leadership for multiple department projects and acted as an intermediary between developers and the Management. Worked directly with other project managers to ensure developers were tasked and on schedule Provided technical leadership and oversaw the implementation of resources.arcgis.com and www.gis.com in Drupal 6 including system configuration, visual appearance, module selection, custom development and functional implementation. Provided technical leadership for localization of multiple sites including the development of a translation management system to broker translations between third party vendors, our localization staff and our applications. Collaborated with internal customers to identify user requirements, assess available technologies and custom/off-the-shelf solutions and then recommend and implemented solution options Identified issues and then helped devise and implement creative solutions. Worked with individual developers to ensure solutions were coded in a way that complied with departmental standards and methodologies Worked with managers to select team members so that the team was functional from an expertise and interpersonal perspective. Acted as an arbitrator for issues regarding front-end standards and best practices. Provided leadership to other front-end developers and assisted in the creation of departmental front-end coding standards and best practices involving CSS, JavaScript, HTML, SEO and 508 compliancy. Provided high level front-end development as needed for various departmental projects. Assisted in the recruiting of additional PHP and Front-end resources
Developed high quality front-end solutions for multiple departments including Sales, Marketing, Development, Training and Events to name a few. Helped migrate 70+ applications within the UC team to a uniform and standardized visual appearance involving shared styles, javascript and underlying HTML structure. Created an online collaboration system for attendants of the UC that allowed for users to communicate without having to share private contact information Created RIA face to the online scheduling system allowing attendants of the UC to see a dynamic schedule of their sessions as well as create custom appointments using a google calendar inspired interface. Provided leadership to other front-end developers and assist in the creation of departmental front-end coding standards and best practices involving CSS, JavaScript, HTML, SEO and 508 compliancy. Improved inter and cross departmental communication and collaboration via participation in ad-hoc project teams
Ultimately got my degree in ECON/MIS. Along the way though, I studied a broad range of topics including computer science, management, economics, trade and globalization, and information systems.
My sophomore year I was the president of the UCR chapter of the Association for Computer Machinery, which had replaced the Computer Science Undergraduate Association

Worked for the University's Transportation & Parking Services department and revolutionized the parking permit purchase and ticket payment processes by building a custom e-commerce solution. Lines went from 300+ people long at the beginning of the quarter, to almost non-existent.
